Albert Einstein
His name is Albert Einstein. He was a well known theoretical physicist an arguably the most influential scientist of all time. He was famous for his well-known invention, The Theory of Relativity. He was born in German at 4 March 1879 and died at the age of 76 at 18 April 1955.
Einstein received numerous awards and honors, and in 1922, he was awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics "for his services to Theoretical Physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect". None of the nominations in 1921 met the criteria set by Alfred Nobel, so the 1921 prize was carried forward and awarded to Einstein in 1922. Even though he was a genius, as a child, Einstein was isolated because he was considered mentally disabled and could not attend school normally.
At that time, many people told Einstein to stop going to school because they thought he could do nothing. Not only that, Einstein failed the college entrance exam and finally entered college after one year. Apparently, these limitations did not shrink Einstein's thinking. He proved them wrong
Although he was a genius person, he didn't lack sense of humor. There was a story, One day Albert Einstein grew tired of delivering the same speech over and over again at different meetings. So one night, after a long day, the driver jokingly remarked, "I've heard your speech so many times, I know it word for word! Why don't you just sit down and let me give the speech tonight?" Einstein agreed. When they arrived at the venue, Einstein put on his chauffeur's uniform and cap, and sat at the back of the hall. The driver took his place on the podium, and easily delivered a speech, and invited the audience to ask questions. He convincingly answered the first few questions, but then one proud man stood up and asked a very difficult question on his theory of relativity. The driver was confused, but calmly and reassuringly said, "Why is your question so easy? I'll have my driver answer it!" "Why is your question so easy? I'll have my driver answer it!"
The reason I make him my idol and respect him at the same time is because he is a genius and talented man in terms of science and furthermore he was a humorous person. I was fascinated by his quotes that are:
"Science without religion is lame, Religion without science is blind"
and
"What is right is not always popular, and what is popular is not always right.”
Alan Turing
Alan Mathison Turing was born in Maida Vale, London on 23 June 1912. His father was part of a family of merchants from Scotland. His mother, Ethel Sara, was the daughter of an engineer.
Alan was a brilliant mathematician and cryptographer. He became the founder of modern-day computer science and artificial intelligence. He designed a machine at Bletchley Park to break secret Enigma encrypted messages used by the Nazi German war machine to protect sensitive commercial, diplomatic and military communications during World War 2. This made the single biggest contribution to the Allied victory in the war against Nazi.
Turing was one of the people who worked on the first computers. He created the theoretical Turing machine in 1936. The machine was imaginary, but it included the idea of a computer program.
Turing was interested in artificial intelligence. He proposed the Turing test, to say when a machine could be called "intelligent". A computer could be said to "think" if a human talking with it could not tell it was a machine.
My interest maybe started when i was watching The Imitation Game (2014). The movie showed us how brilliance Alan Turing was when he tried to crack the enemy's encrypting method called the Enigma. My interest in computer maybe grew bigger because of him.
